[post_content] => Pamela Coyle Brecht has been invited to speak at this winter’s ACI’s False Claims and Qui Tam Enforcement program, taking place on January 27-28th at the Park Lane Hotel in NYC.
This advanced forum on False Claims and Qui Tam Enforcement is designed to provide up-to-date guidance and analysis from the most respected false claims practitioners.
The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) released its yearly statistics for the False Claims Act and fraud cases for fiscal year 2018. The DOJ reported that it recovered $2.8 billion in final judgments and settlements during this time period, despite conspicuously less total new qui tam and non-qui tam actions brought in total. The recovery statistics for fiscal year 2018 show a sustained and aggressive use of the False Claims Act by the government and Qui Tam relators alike. By all accounts, the trend for government-initiated FCA actions looks to continue to rise, leaving the industry wondering:
- What will total recoveries amount to at the end of Fiscal ‘19?
- What can we expect for Fiscal ‘20?
- Where will government enforcement priorities lie?
- Which industries are at greatest risk?
- What can you do to prepare for the next wave of FCA enforcement and protect your client’s interests?

ACI's website here.

[post_content] => Join Partner Douglas Rosenblum, on Thursday, November 14th at noon, for an informative webinar discussion of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. This federal statute, enacted more than 40 years ago, has become more and more prevalent in federal investigations. It is critical for counsel representing any American company doing business abroad to understand the ramifications of this powerful tool of federal prosecutors. The FCPA contains both civil and criminal remedies covering acts of bribery abroad, as well as improper reporting of related payments.
Mr. Rosenblum is the Co-Chair of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti’s White Collar Practice Group.
This program will provide insight on proactive measures companies can and should take to maintain an effective and appropriate compliance program, as well as pointers for crisis management and investigation when problems arise.
For more information, and to register, please visit the website here.
