The Pittsburgh office is seeking a highly motivated and industrious attorney to work in the firm’s Product Liability practice group.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Investigate and evaluate product liability claims
- Conduct legal research regarding product liability law and federal regulations
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
- Manage all phases of litigation, including depositions, hearings, mediation, arbitration, and trial
- Advise clients on risk management, compliance, recalls, and liability exposure
- Prepare witnesses and clients for testimony
- Maintain case files, billing records, and litigation deadlines
- Participate in Business Development activities
The ideal candidate must have the following skills for consideration:
- 4–10 years of litigation experience preferred
- Experience with product liability, mass torts, personal injury, or complex civil
- Experience with active participation in depositions, oral arguments, and courtroom experiences
- Excellent academic credentials as well as strong organization, writing, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of county, state, and federal courts and related rules of civil procedures
- Strong attention to detail in all work, along with the ability to manage multiple files and to prioritize workloads to effectively meet all deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff, and clients
- Forward thinking, organized, and a team player
- Ability to independently solve problems and exercise sound judgment with minimal direction
The Pittsburgh office has an opening for a billing coordinator. The candidate will be responsible for handling all accounts payable to a company by supervising invoicing and communicating directly with clients. Billing coordinators make sure that all customers are charged appropriately by keeping thorough records of all payments and bills.

- Communicate with Partners, support staff, & clients as needed regarding billing and payment issues.
- Disburse retainer funds and send out correspondence to clients regarding the same.
- Process pre-bills (including but not limited to editing, adding time).
- Prepare and submit invoices electronically or by mail.
- Responsible for editing and generating invoices for electronic billing systems such as TyMetrix 360, LegalX, BottomLine Technologies, Mitratech and CounselLink.
- Perform conflicts checks and opening files.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate must have the following skills for consideration:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates attention to detail.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Works ethically and with integrity.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Must have strong knowledge of billing and financial concepts.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must have 2+ years’ experience in law firm billing.
- Proficient in Prolaw/ELITE a plus.
