The panel will include compliance counsel, defense counsel, and relator's counsel who will discuss several areas related to the False Claims Act under the program title, "How Not to Transform Your Employees into Whistleblowers - Even the Thinnest of Pancakes Has Two Sides."

Topics of discussion include how to collect and respond to compliance concerns within your organization and how the pandemic, including the new remote work force, affect the potential for an increase in compliance concerns.

Morse will be participating in an American Health Law Association webinar on Wednesday, June 10th to discuss Fraud and Abuse in the Age of Coronavirus: Current and Future Federal Criminal and Civil Enforcement Actions. In this informative program, speakers will cover the potential criminal and civil exposures, the ongoing government response to monitor and pursue fraud and abuse, and guidance for health care entities who are working in this quickly changing regulatory environment. The panel will also discuss DOJ's focus on investigating and prosecuting efforts to take advantage of the pandemic by selling fraudulent services and treatments.

The False Claims Act (FCA) has been a tool used against municipalities and a tool used by municipalities. During this presentation, which is a part of the International Municipal Lawyers' Association (IMLA) annual seminar, attendees will learn how to use the FCA to your advantage and avoid being the target of an FCA prosecution.

The future spend on healthcare in this country has attracted PE to take publicly-traded healthcare behemoths private and whistleblowers and law enforcement have taken notice. During this presentation, Ms. Brecht will review the pitfalls and sand traps for PE to avoid from due diligence through the post-M&A period.
