FRANK H. STOY, IV is a litigation partner in the Pittsburgh office of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP. He is a trial lawyer with a national practice, representing Fortune 500 life sciences and consumer product companies in product liability litigation. He has handled a significant number of high-stakes cases, including numerous mass tort and consumer class action matters nationwide. He routinely handles complex cases involving novel scientific and technical issues and has secured successful outcomes for clients in litigation involving a wide range of pharmaceutical and consumer products.
Mr. Stoy also has substantial experience representing companies in high-value litigation arising out of complex commercial disputes. This includes representing major companies in wide variety of contractual disputes in the areas of nuclear power, automated technology, commercial real estate, and healthcare.
Mr. Stoy has been recognized for his talent in defending clients across a wide range of industries. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch® 2024 and 2025 editions for his practice in Commercial Litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Stoy served as Special Assistant to Duquesne University President Ken Gormley where he helped edit and revise “The Presidents and the Constitution,” which provides a unique legal perspective on the history of the American Presidency.
Mr. Stoy also previously served as a summer law clerk for the Honorable Frederick P. Stamp in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia. He was a senior editor on the Duquesne Law Review, and the founding President of the law school’s Appellate Moot Court Board. Mr. Stoy received the Duquesne University School of Law Distinguished Student Award, the Shalom Moot Court Award, and was elected to the Order of the Barristers.
Mr. Stoy is an active participant in the firm’s pro bono initiatives, and has previously served as an adjunct professor of Appellate Moot Court at Duquesne University School of Law.
