Gaetan J. Alfano, partner at Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP, has been appointed a member of the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

This five-year appointment is effective April 1, 2024.

The Disciplinary Board was created by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to review conduct and assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct. Consisting of 10 lawyers and two non-lawyers from across the Commonwealth, the Board assists the Supreme Court in the licensing and discipline of attorneys in Pennsylvania. Its mission is to protect the public, maintain a high standard of integrity in the legal profession and safeguard the reputation of the courts of Pennsylvania. Members meet regularly to decide cases, policies, and board administrative matters.

Mr. Alfano is a member of the firm’s employment and labor practice group. Throughout his 40 years practicing law, part of which he served as Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney, he has tried hundreds of cases to verdict and has substantial trial and appellate experience. Mr. Alfano represents clients in commercial and employment disputes, insurance insolvency and receivership matters.

In 2016, Mr. Alfano served as chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association and has held various other positions in the Bar Association. In addition, he has served as vice chair for the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, member of the Board of Law Examiners of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and senior hearing committee member for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Alfano earned his law degree from Villanova School of Law and is a graduate of Villanova University.
