CHARLES AVALLI is a partner at Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP. He is a member in the firms Estate & Trust Litigation; Estate Planning and Administration Practice Group and Family Law Practice Group.
In the Estate and Trust area, he does planning and estate administration. Also, he does a great deal of Orphans’ Court litigation in the areas of Will contests, surcharge and removal of Executors and Trustees and contested guardianships. In the Family Law area, he focuses on high-net-worth cases working on income determinations and closely held business valuations.
Mr. Avalli has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® annually since 2007 in Family Law, Litigation–Trusts and Estates, and Trusts and Estates. He has also been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for his work in Estate and Trust Litigation, and Family Law and Estate Planning and Probate. Mr. Avalli is an active member of the legal community, where he is a current Hearing Committee Member serving the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He has previously served on the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania’s Orphans’ Court Rules Committee, and was the Vice Chair from 2018-2019. Mr. Avalli’s a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Allegheny County Bar Association.
A 1978, magna cum laude, graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, he then went on to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Law in 1981. Upon law school graduation, Mr. Avalli spent time with an international public accounting firm in its tax department.
Mr. Avalli’s kids are grown, and the grandchildren are coming along. Besides spoiling them, he keeps saying he’s going to improve his golf game but that hasn’t yet happened. He loves Pitt basketball and attends as many games as he can.
