DANIEL A. SEIBEL is a partner at Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP and a member of the firm’s Estate & Trust Litigation and Estate Planning and Administration Practice Group. He represents corporations and individuals, in both personal and fiduciary capacities, in a broad range of estate and trust disputes before the Orphans’ Court Divisions throughout the Courts of Common Pleas in southwestern Pennsylvania and is often sought for representation throughout the country having tried cases in jurisdictions as far south as Tennessee and as far west as New Mexico.

Mr. Seibel’s litigation experience includes matters involving the interpretation of testamentary documents; surcharge, accounting, and removal proceedings; will and trust contests; breach of fiduciary duty claims; and related estate and trust disputes. He also regularly handles disputes involving powers of attorney, multi-party and transfer-on-death accounts, life insurance and retirement accounts, custodial accounts, and transfers to minors.

In addition, Mr. Seibel has significant experience representing clients in matters involving the Internal Revenue Service and the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, including audits, appeals, private letter ruling requests, and proceedings before the United States Tax Court. His practice further includes providing closely coordinated, tailored estate planning services, with a focus on business succession planning, charitable giving, private foundations, and post-mortem planning. He has represented, or worked extensively with, all major trust companies and financial institutions holding trust powers in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. He has had the pleasure of representing high-profile clients, including several professional athletes (most recently Aaron Rogers and DK Metcalf), as well as clients in high-profile cases, including the objectors in the case of In re: Estate of William K. McAleer, 248 A.3d 416 (Pa. 2021), the inaugural Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision concerning the fiduciary exception to the attorney-client privilege (which he settled following remand).

Well respected among his peers, Mr. Seibel has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Rising Star by Super Lawyers since 2018 and by The Best Lawyers in America®: Ones to Watch since 2021. He serves as Editor-in-Chief and Chairman of the Pittsburgh Legal Journal and the Pittsburgh Lawyers Journal and is actively involved in professional leadership, including serving as an Officer of the Probate & Trust Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association and Lawyers’ Fund Committee Member for the Allegheny County Bar Foundation.
