Shelly R. Pagac Presented at the Pennsylvania Bar Association 2015 Midyear Meeting

PITTSBURGH, PA- Shelly R. Pagac, partner in the law firm of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP, presented at the Pennsylvania Bar Association 2015 Midyear Meeting on January 28, 2015 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Ms. Pagac presented “Ethically Speaking: Keeping Up With Social Media and Other Technology Impacting Your Practice?”  Along with PBA Vice President Sara A. Austin, Esq. of Austin Law Firm, LLC, and past PBA President Tom Wilkinson of Cozen O’Connor, the panel covered updates on recent ethics guidance addressing a wide array of trending issues arising from the increasing use of social media for communicating with clients and prospects, advertising, and as an investigative tool. They also presented practical guidance and software suggestions on how to employ social media ethically in discovery and lawyer advertising.

Ms. Pagac devotes her practice to employment law and has been counseling, training, and defending employers since 1988.  She has litigated cases in all areas of employment law, has tried a number of cases to verdict, and is a trained mediator.  Ms. Pagac is a frequent speaker on employment law topics.

Ms. Pagac graduated from the Pennsylvania State University, and the Catholic University School of Law in Washington, D.C., where she was Note and Comment Editor of the Health Law Review.  She served on the Board of Directors for Pittsburgh Action Against Rape from 2008 through 2014.  In addition, she currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

She is a Fellow of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation and the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation.  She is a member of the invitation only Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, and previously served as Chair of the organization’s Federal Program Committee.  Ms. Pagac was the recipient of the prestigious Philip Werner Amran Award in 2011 which is given to only one recipient a year and recognizes professional excellence and service to the community.   Ms. Pagac also received the Nora Barry Fischer Award for 2014. The Nora Barry Fischer Award serves to recognize an attorney within the Firm who has given back to the legal profession and the community at large.
