Joseph D. Mancano, a senior partner in the Philadelphia office of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick and Raspanti, LLP, was named Chair of the White Collar Criminal Defense Practice Group. James W. Kraus, a partner in the Pittsburgh office, has been named Vice-Chair of the White Collar Criminal Defense Practice Group.
Joseph Mancano is also a member of the firm’s Federal and State Qui Tam Litigation and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. He focuses his practice on representing clients in a wide range of complex criminal cases including antitrust, RICO, bank fraud, securities, health care, and income taxes. Mr. Mancano also represents individuals in federal and state whistleblower lawsuits. He is an accomplished trial attorney and has tried over 100 criminal and civil cases to verdict in state and federal courts throughout the United States. In addition to his active trial practice, Mr. Mancano also handles appeals in federal and state courts.
Mr. Mancano is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the American Bar Association, Criminal Justice Section, the Criminal Law Committee of the Federal Bar Association in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the American Health Lawyers Association, Antitrust Practice Group, the Federalist Society and the Justinian Society. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Civil War Museum of Philadelphia.
James W. Kraus is Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section White Collar Crime Committee Mid-Atlantic Region Subcommittee. Mr. Kraus is also a subcommittee chair for the Government Enforcement and Corporate Compliance Committee (GECC) of the Defense Research Institute (DRI). He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (PACDL) and the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). He also serves on the Criminal Law Sections for the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations, and is a member of the Civil Litigation and Individual Rights Sections of the District of Columbia Bar Association.
Mr. Kraus concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial and financial services litigation, white collar criminal defense, complex risk management, and professional liability litigation.
