PITTSBURGH, PA- Eric G. Soller, a partner in the law firm of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP, has been appointed as an Electronic Discovery Special Master for the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
In appropriate cases, the Electronic Discovery Special Masters (“EDSMs”) address Electronically Stored Information (“ESI”) issues that may arise during litigation. EDSM’s appointed duties include developing protocols for the preservation, retrieval or search of potentially relevant ESI; developing protective orders to address concerns regarding the protection of privileged or confidential information; monitoring discovery compliance; resolving discovery disputes; etc.
Mr. Soller is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group, and is the co-chair of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group.
Mr. Soller has represented clients in a myriad of intellectual property litigation matters. He is currently representing clients in patent infringement cases in the Western District of Pennsylvania. He has tried patent infringement cases to verdict, conducted claim construction (Markman) hearings, and represented clients before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
He is a founding member of the Western District of Pennsylvania Intellectual Property Inn of Court and is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association. Mr. Soller has also been selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for 2012, 2013 and 2014 in the area of Intellectual Property Litigation.
Mr. Soller received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and his B.S. from the Pennsylvania State University.
