Eric G. Soller and John A. Schwab, partners with Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP, will present at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s eDiscovery Symposium on April 17, 2015 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Mr. Soller will moderate the panel, “eDiscovery and Information Governance: In-House Counsel Perspective.” This panel will discuss General Counsel and In-House Counsel’s views on eDiscovery, including best practices with collection, preservation, review, cost issues, and working with outside counsel. Mr. Schwab will present on the panel, “eDiscovery Issues in Complex Cases in Federal Court.” This program will review recent developments in federal law regarding cost-shifting of discovery costs. The panel will also discuss courts’ treatment of emerging technology, like technology assisted review.
Eric G. Soller is a partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group, and is the co-chair of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Soller has represented clients in a myriad of intellectual property litigation matters. He has tried patent infringement cases to verdict, conducted claim construction (Markman) hearings, and represented clients before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is a founding member of the Western District of Pennsylvania Intellectual Property Inn of Court and is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association. Mr. Soller has been appointed as an Electronic Discovery Special Master for the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He has also been selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for 2012, 2013 and 2014 in the area of Intellectual Property Litigation. Mr. Soller received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
John A. Schwab is a partner in the White Collar Criminal Defense and the Commercial Litigation practice groups. He is also co-chair of the firm’s Cyber Liability and Technology Law practice group. Mr. Schwab is an experienced litigator, having represented various individuals, government officials, health care practitioners, and corporate executives and officers in matters investigated by the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He has defended clients in investigations and cases involving alleged violations of federal and state laws, including mail fraud, bank fraud, internal revenue fraud, procurement fraud, health care fraud, and conspiracy. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Schwab served in the United States Marine Corps as the Chief Defense Trial Attorney for the Defense Office at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Mr. Schwab was selected in 2013 and 2014 as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star in the area of White Collar Criminal Defense. Mr. Schwab received his J.D. from Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University.
