PITTSBURGH, PA – Christopher E. Ballod has joined the law firm of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP, as Special Counsel in the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property Practice Groups.
Mr. Ballod has experience counseling insureds, brokers, and major insurance carriers in matters relating to coverage for all varieties of risks, including business interruption loss, Errors and Omissions claims, Directors and Officers claims, intellectual property claims, advertising injuries, construction accidents, construction defects and disputes, and environmental claims. Mr. Ballod has advised e-commerce clients with their intellectual property needs including the protection and registration of trademarks and copyrights, anti-money laundering policies, terms of use agreements, and private licensing processes.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Ballod served as litigation counsel for a group of insurance companies in matters including coverage of the NFL Players Concussion Litigation, construction practices coverage, and commercial property damage claims. His experience also includes toxic tort and general casualty matters.
Mr. Ballod participates in several trade associations and volunteer organizations such as the Pittsburgh Technology Council, the Financial Industries Network, and the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. He is the past chair of the board of directors for a non-profit theater company established in Philadelphia, and a former Barrister member of the Temple Inn of Court. He is also a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association.
Mr. Ballod received his law degree from the Widener University School of Law where he served as the Articles Editor for the Widener Law Review board, and as the Team Captain for the Moot Court Honor Society. He received his B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University.
