KERRI LEE CAPPELLA is a partner at Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP and a member of the firm’s Family Law Practice Group.

Ms. Cappella has practiced Family Law for more than 30 years, with a concentration in complex, high-net-worth marital estates. She has substantial experience negotiating and drafting prenuptial and postnuptial agreements for high-net-worth clients and their families. Recognized by her clients and peers as a skilled litigator and negotiator, Ms. Cappella approaches each matter with an emphasis on thoughtful strategy and practical results.

In 2015, Ms. Cappella became a certified mediator and has sought to apply her knowledge and experience in Family Law to help divorcing and separating parties reach forward-thinking, mediated resolutions to their most personal disputes.

Ms. Cappella has earned recognition for her leadership and excellence in family law. Most recently, she was recognized in the 2026 Chambers High Net Worth Guide for Family and Matrimonial Law in Pennsylvania, which recognizes leading professionals serving high-net-worth individuals and families. She has been consistently selected for the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list and has been recognized among the Top 100 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and Top 50: Pittsburgh Super Lawyers annually since 2021. Since 2023, she has also been named to the Top 50: Women Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list. In 2023, Ms. Cappella was named one of Pennsylvania’s “10 Best Attorneys” by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. In addition, Ms. Cappella has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for Family Law for more than a decade.

Ms. Cappella became a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) in 2009 and served as President of the AAML Pennsylvania Chapter from 2023 to 2024. She currently serves on the AAML National Mentorship Committee and the Pennsylvania Chapter’s Board of Examiners. She has presented at AAML programs on topics including the valuation and consideration of private equity interests in divorce cases.

Ms. Cappella has been active in the Family Law Sections of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Allegheny County Bar Association, where she has held elected and appointed leadership positions and served as a faculty speaker. She is also a member of the University of Pittsburgh Law Association Board of Governors and a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Judiciary Committee. Ms. Cappella co-authored Slicing Up the Pie: Equitable Distribution in Pennsylvania, published in its 2009, 2012, and 2016 editions.

A lifelong Pittsburgh resident, Ms. with brief stints in Happy Valley and West London. When she is not at the office, she can usually be found hiking with friends in one of the region’s parks, practicing yoga, or spending time with her young adult sons and their families. On Steelers Sundays, she and her husband, Mike, can often be found at Heinz Field.
