REBECCA JOHNSON BARKSDALE is a partner at Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP, where she is a member of the Commercial Litigation, Insurance Coverage, and Construction Practice Groups. Prior to joining Pietragallo, Ms. Barksdale worked in the Corporate Legal Department at the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball (MLB).

Ms. Barksdale earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was a two-time recipient of the Paul C. Weiler Scholar Award. During law school, she was actively involved with the Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law, the Women’s Law Association, and the Committee on Sports and Entertainment Law. She graduated with a B.A., magna cum laude, from Gettysburg College. She was appointed to serve on Gettysburg’s BOLD (Burgians of the Last Decade) Council from 2020 to 2024.

Ms. Barksdale holds numerous leadership and volunteer roles, including currently serving on the Western PA March of Dimes Young Professionals’ Board and the Pennsylvania Women Work Volunteer and Ambassador Council and as a Young Lawyer Fellow for the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. She also mentors through the Harvard Law School Committee on the Sports and Entertainment Law Mentorship Program. Her longstanding commitments include the Hay-Sell Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Inns of Court and volunteering for Dress for Success Pittsburgh and Allegheny County Mock Trial.

Previously, Ms. Barksdale served as a Big Sister with Big Brothers, Big Sisters and held several roles within the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) Young Lawyers Division, including Council Member and Co-Chair of the Public Service Committee. She was selected as a member of the YLD’s Bar Leadership Initiative Class of 2020-2021 and has been involved in the Women in Law Division, Construction Law Section, Civil Litigation Section, and Sports Law Committee of the ACBA since 2019.

Ms. Barksdale has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Rising Star in Civil Litigation by Super Lawyers. She is a published author in several publications including The Mercury and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
