The Pittsburgh office is seeking a highly motivated and industrious paralegal to provide direct support for the Senior Partners in the Commercial Litigation practice area.

Job responsibilities would include:

  • Managing the lifecycle of active matters/cases and monitoring case progress.
  • Deposition and trial preparation by way of:

-Conducting legal research for litigation or legal briefs,
-Identifying, compiling, researching, and analyzing information prior to preparing reports and exhibits,
-Preparing case files, binders, summaries, and other paper/electronic case materials such as witness binders, pre-trial binders, and compilation of trial exhibits, and
-Coordinating and preparing witnesses testimony at trial and depositions.

  • Preparing general motions, pleadings, subpoenas, and other documents as requested.
  • Responding to discovery requests.
  • Electronic filing of pleadings such as Appearances, Answers, and all pretrial and dispositive Motions in state and federal courts.
  • Logging and entering in billable time to Prolaw billing system.

The ideal candidate must have the following skills for consideration:

  • At least 7 years’ experience supporting attorneys in complex litigation.
  • Experience with county, state, and federal courts, including knowledge of CM/ECF filing.
  • Strong attention to detail in all work.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and to prioritize workloads to effectively meet all deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff, and clients.
  • Forward thinking, organized, and a team player.
  • Ability to independently solve problems and exercise sound judgment with minimal direction.
  • Experience with litigation technology applications such as eDiscovery Point, Case Notebook, and Relativity.

The Pittsburgh office has an immediate opening for a Business Development Coordinator. The candidate will be responsible for executing business development initiatives focused on supporting the firm brand and assisting in building and enhancing relationships with clients and prospects.

Job responsibilities would include:

  • Monitoring and creating various daily reports and news alerts.
  • Conducting background research as requested using the internet and internal firm resources such as Westlaw.
  • Overseeing and proofreading postings to multiple websites, biographies, firm materials, blogs, and social media accounts.
  • Assisting with coordination of proposals and RFPs.
  • Data entry across multiple programs including Prolaw, CRM, and deal collection list.
  • Coordinating and overseeing various firm-wide business development activities and initiatives.
  • Supporting practice areas with requests regarding promotional and internal meeting materials.
  • Managing e-mail campaigns and monitor related analytics using software systems such as Constant Contact, Google Analytics, and Leadlander.
  • Assist in securing placement of articles in third party publications.
  • Assist in the planning of seminars, conferences, and other firm-sponsored events including CLEs.
  • Editing and proofreading marketing materials including brochures, firm advertisements, announcements, proposals, etc.
  • Assisting attorneys and business development with speaking engagement preparation.
  • Provide additional marketing and administrative support as needed.

The ideal candidate must have the following skills for consideration:

  1. Bachelor’s degree, plus two to three years of work experience in a law firm or a marketing/PR role preferred.
  2. Intermediate experience and knowledge with technical applications including: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe CS Suite, Constant Contact, Google Analytics, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft SharePoint.
  3. Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  4. Ability to effectively manage competing, shifting priorities and consistently meet deadlines.

The Philadelphia Center City office is seeking a highly motivated, experienced legal assistant to provide secretarial and administrative support for three attorneys in multiple practice groups.

Job responsibilities would include:

  • Transcribing, composing, formatting, editing, proofreading, and finalizing all forms of documents, correspondence, pleadings, and reports.
  • Opening of new files, file set up and organization, preparing conflicts checks, and updating glance sheets and litigation profiles as needed.
  • Preparing and filing of pleadings such as Appearances, Answers, and all pretrial and dispositive Motions in state and federal courts.
  • Coordinating, maintaining, and calendaring upcoming trial dates, arbitrations, jury trials, depositions, inspections, and all corresponding status notes.
  • Managing incoming mail, entering daily time entries, submitting vendor invoices for payment.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, travel arrangements, and expense reporting.
  • Reviewing and editing prebills per client guidelines.

The ideal candidate must have the following skills for consideration:

  • At least 5 years’ experience assisting attorneys in complex litigation areas such as employment & labor, white collar federal litigation, government enforcement & compliance, and commercial litigation.
  • Experience with both State and Federal courts, including knowledge of CM/ECF filing.
  • Strong attention to detail in all work.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and to prioritize workloads to effectively meet all deadlines.
