Paul Kenneth Vey
PAUL KENNETH VEY is a partner in the firm of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP, where he serves as Co-chair of the Health Care Litigation Group. An accomplished trial attorney, he is a member of the Health Care Litigation and Litigation Defense Practice Groups. Mr. Vey has tried cases in the federal and state courts of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland and West Virginia.Mr. Vey has represented a broad spectrum of health care providers and institutions. His clients include physicians, nurses, surgeons, physician assistants, nursing homes, hospitals, medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, physician practice groups and other related businesses. Mr. Vey frequently represents clients before licensing boards and administrative bodies concerning credentialing or privileges issues, compliance matters and Medicare issues.
Mr. Vey has extensive knowledge concerning malpractice matters as a result of 28 years of defending medical malpractice claims. Mr. Vey has an outstanding record of success is defending cases through trial.
Mr. Vey received his Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia; and before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals; U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of West Virginia, Southern District of West Virginia, Western District of Pennsylvania and Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Vey is a member of the Defense Research Institute and Pennsylvania Defense Institute and a three-term member of the Judiciary Committee of Allegheny County. He also holds an appointment to the panel of arbitrators, American Arbitration Association and frequently acts as a mediator.
Mr. Vey frequently speaks before health care professional groups, including AHLA; HCCA; the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Nursing; Pennsylvania Osteopathic Physicians' Association, Emergency Medical Services Institute, Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Society; the Western Pennsylvania Association of Healthcare Risk Management; Mid-Atlantic College Health Administrator; and the Pittsburgh Roentgen Ray Society. Mr. Vey speaks often at continuing legal education programs involving a wide range of litigation matters. He authored “Child Abuse: Your Standard of Care,” published in The Journal of Emergency Care and Transportation.As an active member of the community, Mr. Vey has served on various community and charitable boards, advisory committees and has served as child advocate through the Bar Foundation.
