Eric P. Reif
ERIC P. REIF is a partner with Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP. He is an accomplished trial attorney who is active in the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Employment and Construction Practice Groups.Mr. Reif received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1967 as well as his undergraduate degree from Michigan in 1963. Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Reif served as a law clerk to the late Timothy G. Quinn of the Court of Appeals of the State of Michigan.
His extensive litigation experience includes a broad range of employment rights, commercial, product liability and construction litigation. In the construction field, he has represented owners, general contractors, subcontractors and consulting engineers in cases tried in both the federal and state courts and through arbitration. The issues involved in these construction-related matters have included delay and extra work damage claims, as well as claims related to improper design, supervision or execution of the work.
In the commercial and employment field, Mr. Reif has received several favorable verdicts or judgments in the federal courts in recent years in cases alleging various types of discrimination. He has also obtained large settlements in various commercial matters.
In addition, Mr. Reif has successfully prosecuted and defended cases involving trademarks, patents, trade secrets, restrictive covenants and non-competition clauses.
He is admitted to practice in all state courts in Pennsylvania and Michigan, the Second, Third, Fourth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals; the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Middle and Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of Michigan. He is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations and is an active member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.
Mr. Reif also has extensive experience as both a mediator and arbitrator for a broad range of litigation disputes and regularly speaks on litigation topics as an invited panelist at continuing legal education programs such as the Employment Law Institute presented each year by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the Federal Practice Program presented by the Academy of Trial Lawyers.
