Sarah R. Lavelle

SARAH R. LAVELLE is an associate in the Commercial Litigation, White Collar Criminal Defense and Employment Law Practice Groups of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP.  She is located in the firm’s Philadelphia office.

Ms. Lavelle's employment practice focuses on the representation of public and private employers against claims of retaliation and race, gender, age, disability, and religious discrimination before local, state and federal administrative agencies and in state and federal courts.  Ms. Lavelle also routinely prepares and advises employers on employment policies, manuals, personnel handbooks and employment contracts. 

Ms. Lavelle received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she completed an internship with the Legal Aid Society Employment Law Center and the National Labor Relations Board. She served as editor for the Journal of Law & Social Challenges, and was a member of the Advanced Moot Court Team where she competed in the National Appellate Advocacy Competition. Ms. Lavelle was the recipient of a Faculty Scholarship, awarded on the basis of her academic performance, as well as the CALI Awards for Excellence in Legal Ethics, Public International Law and Legal Research and Writing. Upon graduation, Ms. Lavelle received the Public Interest Law Certificate and the ABA-BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Labor and Employment Law. She received her B.A. from Boston College.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Lavelle worked as a Peace Corps volunteer in Romania. She focused her volunteer efforts on teaching English as a Second Language to children in grades five to twelve.

Ms. Lavelle is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. She is also a member of the National Association of Women Lawyers.

Ms. Lavelle is licensed in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the District of New Jersey.
