Amy C. Lachowicz
AMY C. LACHOWICZ is a litigation associate with the firm of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP, in its Philadelphia office. She is a member of the Commercial Litigation, White Collar Criminal Defense and Employment practice groups.Ms. Lachowicz’s Employment Litigation practice focuses on the representation of public and private employers against claims of race, gender, age, disability and religious discrimination. Her practice includes the litigation of complex restrictive clauses in employment agreements and myriad disputes over confidentiality agreements and the misappropriation of trade secrets. Ms. Lachowicz’s White Collar Criminal Defense experience has focused on the representation of licensed professionals in government investigations involving serious fraud allegations.
Some of Ms. Lachowicz’s representations include:
- A national security staffing company against claims of discrimination, as well as contractual disputes;
- A national construction company engaged in a contractual dispute with a subcontractor involving defense and indemnification issues;
- Litigation and counseling services to a non-profit managed care organization on various matters, including disputes with providers, and lawsuits alleging negligence and violations of 42 U.S.C. § 1983;
- Defending health care practices investigated and sued by insurance companies for alleged fraudulent treatment of personal injury plaintiffs;
- Defending an outside director of a publicly traded corporation in lawsuits brought by investors and creditors;
- Conducting an independent review of expenses incurred by a municipal borough council accused of overspending taxpayer money.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Lachowicz completed a one-year clerkship with the Honorable Joseph R. Slights, III of the Superior Court of the State of Delaware, where she handled a variety of civil and criminal matters.
In addition, Ms. Lachowicz serves as a Member of the Hearing Committee of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. The Hearing Committee hears matters and files written reports and recommendations to the Disciplinary Board, which reviews the conduct of Pennsylvania lawyers and assures compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.
Ms. Lachowicz obtained her law degree from the Villanova School of Law, where she was the recipient of a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. She received her B.S. from the Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania.
Ms. Lachowicz is licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and also is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Professional Women’s Roundtable, as well as the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Philadelphia Bar Associations.
