Kathryn M. Kenyon
KATHRYN M. KENYON is a partner in the Employment and Health Care Practice Groups of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP.
Ms. Kenyon focuses her litigation practice on complex commercial matters; defense of claims of professional malpractice; and employment litigation defense. She has successfully represented a variety of clients in extended pre-trial negotiations, at trial, and in federal and state proceedings.
Representative matters of Ms. Kenyon’s practice include:
- Defending medical negligence claims against a community hospital and obtaining a defense verdict on behalf of the client after a jury trial.
- Obtaining dismissal of claims against a health system regarding credentialing of staff physicians and issues of corporate negligence.
- Defending an insurer in a civil suit involving wrongful denial of insurance benefits.
- Representing municipalities and employers in litigation matters involving claims of discrimination, wrongful discharge and whistle blowing.
- Representing non-profit housing association in tenant issues in arbitrations and non-jury trials as well as contract negotiations for federal funding.
- Representing former employee of corporation in trade secret litigation including preparation of declarations and defending deposition, which resulted in employee not being named as a party to the litigation.
- Defending healthcare providers in correctional settings in civil rights, licensing and professional claims.
Ms. Kenyon is vice chair of the Administrative Board of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation’s Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership and a member of the Board of Directors of Neighborhood Legal Services Association. She is a former member of the United Way of Allegheny County’s Women’s Leadership Council. Ms. Kenyon was past treasurer of the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and served as chair of its Public Service Committee for over six years.
Ms. Kenyon was selected by the Allegheny County Bar Association as recipient of its ‘2008 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award’, presented to a young attorney who best exemplifies leadership and distinguished service to the legal profession and the community at large.
She was designated as a Pennsylvania Lawyer on the Fast Track in 2005 and a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2005 through 2009 in the area of Business Litigation.
Ms. Kenyon received her J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law. She received her B.S. from James Madison University.
She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the Southern District of West Virginia as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third and Federal Circuits.
