Timothy M. Hazel
TIMOTHY M. HAZEL is a partner in the Business Group of the Pittsburgh office of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP. Mr. Hazel’s practice is primarily focused on commercial real estate matters, general corporate work, franchise compliance and transactions.
Mr. Hazel has been involved with matters concerning commercial and industrial sales, leasing, and development. He has also represented borrowers in real estate-backed finance transactions. In addition, Mr. Hazel’s corporate experience includes handling mergers and acquisitions involving privately owned companies, franchise acquisitions and corporate governance.
Examples of Mr. Hazel’s work include:
- Representing a hotel developer in site acquisition, zoning and land use approvals, project financing, franchise agreement negotiation and project construction documentation.
- Representing the developer of a 175,000-square-foot glass bottle manufacturing facility, including negotiation of a $100 million engineering, procurement and construction contract, as well as long-term ground lease and project financing agreements.
- Negotiating the terms of a 100,000-square-foot office lease for the anchor tenant of a newly developed multiple-office-building suburban office park on behalf of the national developer/owner of the park.
- Negotiating a construction management agreement on behalf of the developer of a $1 billion mixed-use project.
- Representing a developer in the acquisition of the assets of a ski resort, including the hotel, condominium projects, gas station, sewage treatment plant, water utility, 1,500 acres of land, operating equipment and a licensed quarry, in addition to all aspects of project financing.
- Negotiating and drafting of a development agreement, lease, sublease and operating agreement in connection with a county’s $47 million conversion of a century-old jail into a county court facility.
- Representing a professional sports organization in acquiring and developing a soccer stadium complex with a 15,000-seat stadium and up to 30 soccer fields.
- Negotiating and drafting the terms and conditions connected with the sale of substantially all of the assets of an amusement park facility located in Connecticut.
Throughout his career, Mr. Hazel has held various legal positions with several other law firms, and also acted as general corporate and litigation counsel for a Pennsylvania-based business.
Mr. Hazel is a member of the Allegheny County Property Assessment Appeals Review Board and has been appointed to serve as Vice Chair for the 2010 term.
Mr. Hazel received his law degree from the Duquesne University School of Law and a B.S. in business administration from John Carroll University.
He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Pennsylvania.
