Michelle L. Gorman
MICHELLE L. GORMAN is a senior associate of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP. She is a member of the Litigation Defense and Workers’ Compensation Practice Groups, and the Construction Practice Consortium.
Ms. Gorman’s practice is focused in the areas of insurance defense litigation, employer liability, commercial litigation and financial institution work. She has represented several banks and has previously performed trust work for a financial institution. Ms. Gorman has also represented a number of employers in workers' compensation matters and general liability matters. She has successfully represented a variety of clients in mediations, extended pretrial negotiations, in trial, and in federal and state proceedings. Ms. Gorman is currently representing several contractors on a wide variety of issues, including workmanship, mechanics liens and general negligence.
Representative matters of Ms. Gorman's practice include:
- Initiating and defending insurance coverage and bad faith litigation in state and federal Courts.
- Representation of hotels and casinos in a variety of premises liability matters.
- Representation of product manufacturers and distributors in products liability litigation.
- Representation of professionals and businesses in commercial litigation matters and business disputes.
- Representation of businesses in administrative matters.
Ms. Gorman received her law degree from the Capital University School of Law in 1996. She earned her B.S. in accounting, cum laude, from West Liberty State College, where she was a member of the Honors Society. She is admitted to practice before the state courts of West Virginia and Ohio, the Northern District Court of West Virginia, the Southern District Court of West Virginia, and the Southern District Court of Ohio. She is also a member of the Defense Research Institute, the West Virginia Self Insurance Association and the Ohio State, West Virginia and Jefferson County Bar Associations.
Ms. Gorman currently serves on the Board of Advisors for the University of Steubenville and previously served on the Board for the ALIVE Shelter and has served as Treasurer of the Jefferson County Bar Association.
