Mr. Soller successfully argued on behalf of Appellants in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court case of Schwartz v. Rockey, 593 Pa. 536; 932 A.2d 885; 2007 Pa. LEXIS 2177, which defined the standard for an award of treble damages under the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, as well as establishing the standard in Pennsylvania for the election of damages versus equitable remedies.

ERIC G. SOLLER is a partner in the Pittsburgh office of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP. A former prosecutor and seasoned-litigator who has been in practice for nearly thirty years, Mr. Soller is also the Chair of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Groups.
Mr. Soller’s legal specialties are founded in his extensive experience with commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation and complex business litigation. He has tried over 50 jury trials and 100 bench trials over the course of his career on a variety of topics including, but not limited to: patent infringement, trademark infringement, unfair competition, breach of contract and theft of trade secrets.
Mr. Soller has accumulated many legal accolades over the years including induction into the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Western Pennsylvania. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers since 2012 in the area of Intellectual Property Litigation (IP Litigation) and he is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell. He is also recognized for his work in Commercial Litigation, IP Litigation, and Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions by The Best Lawyers in America® 2024.
As a part of his practice, Mr. Soller is currently serving as an Electronic Discovery Special Master in an antitrust matter and an employment class action case in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He was also elected to serve a three-year term on the ACBA Judiciary Committee and he was appointed as a Senior Hearing Committee Member serving the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, for District 4; a roll in which he served previously from 2007 to 2013. Mr. Soller is currently serving a two-year term as the Chair for the Federal Practice Program Committee of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.
Mr. Soller earned his juris doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he served as the Special Projects Editor of its Law Review. Because of the depth of his practice, he is a member in over a half-dozen bar associations.
Beyond his case work, Mr. Soller is deeply committed to charitable causes. He is the founder of the Firm’s Pro Bono Guardianship Project which works in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership and Neighborhood Legal Services Association to provide pro bono legal services for families who need to establish guardianship for disabled family members. He also served on the St. Anthony School Programs Charitable Foundation Board for nine years; the St. Anthony Charitable Foundation raises funds to support St. Anthony School Programs which provide an inclusive academic course of studies and vocational training for students with intellectual disabilities. In recognition of his long-standing commitment to service, Mr. Soller was the recipient of the Firm’s Nora Barry Fischer Award which recognizes outstanding attorneys who give back to the legal profession and community at large.
